Princex Aimis (they/them)

Princex Aimis is a FIERCE drag performer that wears multiple hats (scratch that) DURAGS! Author, educator, clinical social worker, poet, performance artist, and the list goes on. In their work they heavily utilize drag, which is oftentimes misconstrued as an adult or superficial form of entertainment, as a way to educate and inform. It is their mission to raise social consciousness on topics related to gender and sexuality, and ensure that young people have access to a curriculum that is inclusive, affirming, and empowering. Before completing their MSW, at the Ivy League University of Pennsylvania, they led support groups for Queer youth of color in South Jersey and Philadelphia. They possess multiple years of experience working with youth that have encountered an overwhelming number of adverse childhood experiences. They heavily utilize trauma-informed care and trans-affirming cognitive behavioral therapy, in their practice, to assist youth with overcoming adversity in education and life. After obtaining their master’s degree (at the young age of 23), they began working in the healthcare setting to ensure that trans people have access to gender affirming care. In 2023 Princex Aimis began their Drag Queen Story Hour initiative. It operates in direct response to the rising number of Anti-LGBTQ bills, introduced this year, targeting Queer youth. They use the literature from their new poetry book “Princex in Distress” to provide a feeling of hope. They are hoping to expand outside of just assisting local schools, and help schools all over the country create and maintain safe spaces for this already marginalized population. Princex Aimis’ literary works, have and will always, center and prioritize groups that are marginalized because it is their goal to change the world one word at a time.
